Lake Country Associates is seeking an individual licensed by the Minnesota Board of Psychology to provide mental health services and psychological evaluation and treatment services to adults, children or both. The qualified individual will have a doctorate level degree in clinical psychology and be able to pass a criminal background check. LCA is a National Health Service Corps site and the qualified candidate may be eligible for loan forgiveness through this program. Mental Health Practitioner – Park Rapids or Bemidji
Lake Country Associates is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to join our outpatient mental health office in Bemidji, MN. We currently have a part-time and a full-time position available in our growing Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) program. Hours are generally weekday business hours and are flexible in order to accommodate client needs.
Mental Health Practitioners provide a variety of rehabilitation services and skills training to help community members diagnosed with mental illness. These services are generally based in the community, but may occasionally be delivered in the office or in group settings. ARMHS workers work in coordination with mental health professionals and county case managers to serve their clients, with the goal of helping them manage their mental health symptoms in a community setting and avoid hospitalization.
In order to qualify as a Mental Health Practitioner, you must meet the requirements of either A, B, or C:
A. Holds a bachelor’s degree or has completed at least 30 semester credits or 45 quarter credits in behavioral sciences or related fields;
• Has completed a practicum or internship that (1) required direct interaction with adults or children served, and (2) focused on behavioral sciences or related fields; OR • Has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness, substance use disorder, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities.
B. Has at least 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness, substance use disorder, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities.
C. Holds a master’s or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields.
Must pass BCA criminal background check.
