Vanessa Wananu, MSW, LICSW is clinical social worker with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a Masters of Social Work from Howard University. Vanessa has over 10 years of experience in the mental health field in a range of settings and with a variety of population. Over the years, she has worked in residential treatment, community healthcare, intensive outpatient/extended day treatment, outpatient, in-home/community based and school based mental health services. Vanessa has extensive experience in mobile crisis response, including suicide risk assessment, intervention and prevention.
Vanessa enjoys working with children, adults, couples and families and brings experience working with those from diverse backgrounds in both rural and urban areas. She uses an integrative approach that is person centered, trauma informed, and strength based, with an emphasis on building trusting therapeutic relationships to work toward positive change. Most recently, Vanessa managed a mobile crisis response team which grew her passion for creating a safe and supportive environment for both clients and staff to authentically grow and learn. Vanessa is dedicated to human rights, anti-racism & community collaboration.
